Why I live in Clerkenwell: Aligheri founder Rosh Mahtani on her ‘secret’, central London neighbourhood

I live in a Georgian townhouse in Clerkenwell. It is a small, secretive neighborhood that I love. It is both central and tranquil. I am in the middle of London, in a green square. I can hear the birds chirping in my mornings. I can walk in 10 minutes to the Alighieri Hatton Garden studio and reach both east and west easily. I have lived here almost two years. Best places to eat or drinkI love Terroni’s Italian Deli on Clerkenwell Road. It’s my favorite place to go after work for the best noodles. Catalyst on Gray’s Inn Road serves great shakshuka eggs and natural wines. Sunday Roast is my favorite spot at The Pig and Butcher, Liverpool Road. Noble Rot Lamb’s Conduit is a special treat for champagne or oysters. Adrian Lourie / The Exmouth Arms, Clerkenwell. I go to Frame on York Way for boxing, pilates and barre. It’s a great way to get a culture fix. I love running between the studio and home, and walking between our suppliers on an everyday basis. The collection of sculptures is my favorite. The British Museum is my go-to place for inspiration on jewellery from all over the world. I love to go to Camden Passage in Angel for the weekend market. I am always inspired by vintage pieces and find the most amazing. To commune with nature, you will find me walking to Regent’s Canal with my coffee on weekends. You will find me walking to the Regent’s Canal with a cup of coffee at the weekend. There are so many beautiful green spots along this route. It’s a wonderful treat. It’s great for getting aroundClerkenwell and walking around everywhere. I love walking down Greville Street, admiring the beautiful antique jewellery and the small squares that surround it. The terraced houses are rich in history, and the flowers that cascade out of the square feel like something from a bygone era. What’s the catch? There isn’t one!
