It is safe to say that Stratford was quiet before 2012. In preparation for the London Olympics billions were spent on projects like Westfield Stratford City or the Olympic Park. The former athletes’ village was converted into apartments. There are a variety of cafes and restaurants. Grab a bite at Signorelli bakery, a juice at Ginger & Mint, or something stronger at Neighbourhood bar. Sawmill in West Ham Lane serves an excellent breakfast, and you can also enjoy enchiladas at MexiCasa on the high street. Roof East is a street food, music, and bar area that takes place on the roof of the Stratford Centre’s parking lot. The Theatre Royal Stratford East is the cultural powerhouse. It will soon host performances by Ballet Black and a run with pop musical Fantastically Great Women Who Changed the World. He was attracted to Stratford’s affordability and believes that the flat’s value has nearly doubled in his time there. The venue will also include a club, bars, and restaurants. About 11,500 houses and flats have been built in the Olympic Park. Another 21,500 are planned for 2036. Chobham Manor will be the first new neighbourhood to be completed this summer. Construction has begun on East Wick, Sweetwater, and a new V&A outpost. A centre for Sadler’s Wells is also being built on East Bank. Telford Homes, near Stratford International has permission to build 380 rental apartments, along with a variety of shops and offices.
